bridging the gap.
Our story
“The inspiration for The Ink Project came in the form of a New Year’s resolution in 2018, as a way for me to mend the disconnection I was feeling from theatre around me. I was going through what I like to call “the artist’s existential bummer” where stories and characters were not echoing the more dire and vulnerable narratives that needed a platform to unravel. I thought to myself, “if I can’t see theatre that resonates with my identity, I can build a platform that empowers myself and others to create powerful stories.” This was the beginning of The Ink Project. We take pride in being a space where artists around the world can showcase their writing craft at no cost and have access to tools and a strong writing community for creative networking.”

Our mission
At The Ink Project, we have a mission to elevate unheard voices. In essence, we are a social justice arts organization that aims to bring equity to performance oriented writing platforms by:
Hosting showcasing events that specifically offer preference to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, members of the disability community, or female identifying artists.
Upholding an artistic liaison platform by collecting 100 annual play submissions from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, members of the disability community, and female identifying artists and connecting this archive to performance spaces nationwide seeking to diversify their seasons, at no charge.
Curating, facilitating, and teaching writing and development seminars for underrepresented artists.
Promoting geographic inclusivity by upholding a digital platform.
We take pride in finding and promoting stories that would not otherwise be told, and we want to hear yours!
